In the Jungle!

Scenes in the jungles! Some parts of our hike went pretty deep into it!

Healthy Food

Ahh! A healthy lunch in the park before heading out on my 7km hike through the jungles of Vietnam....No this is not Thit Cho(Dog)!!!

Cuc Phuong National Park

My goal was to be sailing along the Bay at Halong Bay in the Gulf of Tonkin, however, Typhoon Damarey had other plans for me...I took a trip to the National Forest instead.

Water Puppets

The puppeteers stand in the water behind a bamboo screen and work the puppets. The vignettes depict pastoral scenes and legends.

Municipal Water Puppet Theatre

Ancient art of water puppetry was originated in with rice farmers who worked their flooded fields and saw the water as a dynamic stage...It is at least 1000 years old....

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

My guide didn't do a very good job capturing the building but this is the final resting place for Uncle Ho....

One Pillar Pagoda

Designed to resemble a lotus blossom, it is a symbol of purity rising out of the sea of sorrow.

Traditional People of Hanoi

The lady with the conical hat and the baskets represents a common way of life here in Hanoi....The baskets carry things home, bring vegetables to markets, and various other transport methods

Hanoi

Arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam for the weekend! This is the view from my hotel window. Dense population here...
